Pirates! The Treasure of Turtle Island
해적이다! 거북이 섬의 보물
Ahoy there! My name is Will. I’m a pirate! Captain Bartholomew Blackhawk and
Iron Katie are my parents. My sister Abigail and I are part of their pirate crew.
어이, 이봐! 거기! 내 이름은 윌이야. 난 해적이라구. 바솔로뮤 블랙호크 선장님과
아이런 케이티씨가 나의 부모님들이셔. 내 여동생 애비게일과 난 우리 부모님이 이끄는
해적단의 일원이야.
One day, Abby and I were up in the crow’s nest .
She saw something floating in the water.
“Avast ! There’s a map in that bottle,“ she said. “A treasure map!”
하루는 애비하고 내가 전망대에 올라갔었어.
애비가 물 속에서 뭔가 떠 있는 걸 발견했지.
“잠깐! 그 병 안에 지도가 있어,”라고 그녀가 말했지. 보물지도!”
Just then, a mean old pirate named One Tooth sailed up in his sloop .
“I’ll be taking that map,” He shouted.
But first, I’ll send the lot of you to Davy Jones’ locker !
바로 그때, 원 투쓰라는 나쁜 나이 많은 해적이 배를 저어서 왔어.
“내가 그 지도를 가질 테야” 라고 그 해적이 소리쳤어.
하지만 우선 너희 두 녀석을 데비 존스의 장으로 보내버릴 거야!
One Tooth fired his cannons. We were under attack!
“We can’t let that scallywag get the map,” Said Abby. “We saw it first!”
원 투쓰는 대포를 발사했어. 우리가 공격 받고 있는 거였어!
“저런 깡패가 지도를 가져가게 둘 수 없어” 애비가 말했어. “우리가 먼저 봤다고!”
So we grabbed it before One Tooth could.
그래서 우리는 원 투쓰 보다 먼저 그 지도를 낚아 챘어.
Mom threw a stinkpot on One Tooth’s ship.
He was too busy holding his nose to stop us from sailing away.
엄마는 냄새 나는 단지를 원 투쓰 배로 던져버렸어.
원 투쓰는 코를 움켜쥐느라 우리가 배를 타고 멀리 가버리는걸 막지 못했지.
I looked at the map. “Arrrr!” I grumbled.
“How are we going to find the treasure? There’s no ‘X’ on this map!”
The only thing written on it was a pirate song.
난 그 지도를 봤어.
“아! 어떻게 보물을 찾을 수 있을까? 지도에 보물의 장소가 표시되어 있는 지점이 없어!”
라고 난 투덜거렸지.
지도에 써 있는 거라고는 해적노래가 전부였어.
“Maybe we should sing the song,” Abigail said. So we did.
“아마도 우리는 이 노래를 불러야 할 것 같아”애비게일이 말했고 그래서
우리는 그 노래를 불렀어.
“If you want to get my treasure chest
Sail for turtle island to the West.
You’ll find my gold buried under the purple palm tree.
But beware?under the rock, a trapped chest there be!”
“너희가 우리 보물 금고를 원한다면 서쪽에 있는 거북이 섬으로 항해하렴.
너흰 보라색 야자수 나무 밑에 묻혀있는 나의 금을 찾을 수 있을 거야.
하지만 명심해. 바위 밑에 금고는 덫이야!”
I pointed at the map. There was an island that looked like a turtle!
난 지도를 가리켰어. 거북이처럼 생긴 섬이 하나 있는 거야!
We sailed to the island. But One Tooth followed us! While mom and dad fought his crew,
One Tooth jumped onto the beach. That greedy freebooter was going to get the treasure.
Unless my sister and I got it first!
우리는 그 섬으로 항해해 갔어. 그런데 원 투쓰가 우리를 쫓아오는 거야!
엄마와 아빠가 원 투쓰 일당이랑 싸우는 동안 원 투쓰가 해변으로 뛰어 내렸어.
그 욕심쟁이 해적이 그 보물을 차지할지도 몰라.
나의 여동생과 내가 보물을 먼저 찾지 않는다면 말이지.
But before we could, One Tooth grabbed us!
“Let go, you scurvy dog!” Abby yelled.
“Yo ho no,” said One Tooth.
“I need you swabbies to tell me what the map said. Where be the treasure?”
“놓아줘, 이 치사한 사람!” 애비가 소리쳤어.
“음하하. 그건 안 돼지” 원 투쓰가 말했어.
“난 그 지도가 뭐라고 하는지 말해줄 너희 선원이 필요해. 보물은 어디 있는 거야?”
The song on the map said there was a trap under the rock.
So that’s where I told One Tooth to dig!
But just like the song said, it was a trap!
하지만 우리가 보물을 찾기도 전에 원 투쓰가 우리를 잡았어!
지도에 있는 그 노래는 바위 밑에 덫이 있다고 말하고 있었잖아.
그래서 난 원 투쓰에게 바로 거기를 파보라고 말해줬지. 하지만 그 노래가 말해주듯 그건 덫이었어.
“Arrr! You bilge rats hornswoggled me!” cried One Tooth.
Abigail and I dug up the treasure chest. It was full of gold doubloons .
Mom and Dad came to help us carry it back.
“Ready to sail for another adventure, matey?” my sister asked.
Aye Aye! I said with a smile.
“아! 이런 나쁜 놈들이 날 속였어” 원 투쓰가 소리쳤지.
애비게일과 난 보물금고를 파냈어.
금고는 금화로 가득 차 있었어.
엄마와 아빠는 우리가 금고를 옮기는 것을 도와주러 오셨어.
“또 다른 모험을 위해 항해할 준비가 됐나, 친구” 내 여동생이 물었어.
물론이야! 난 웃으면서 말했지.
